ANNUAL CONFERENCE

2011 Information

2011 Award Winners

The Ohio Arts Presenters Network Award of Merit is given annually by OAPN, and is based on the record of service to the field rather than any specific single activity. Criteria includes: innovations in performing arts presentation or performance; dedication to the goals of OAPN, and administration of performing arts programs or projects which, regardless of size, show a record of high achievement and excellence. In 2011, OAPN presented this award to three very deserving recipients:

  • Erin Cameron of Cleveland Heights, Ohio
  • Betsy DuBois of Milford, Pennsylvania
  • Jodie Engle of Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Erin Cameron (picture above right) is the General Manager for Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Erin served as an OAPN board member for two terms and has continued to be an indispensable part of conference preparations, aiding OAPN in its juried showcase preparations each year. As an arts presenter and arts advocate, Erin has displayed her passion and commitment to the arts and to the goals of OAPN and she is well-deserving of this honor.

As owner of the Betsy DuBois Talent Agency, Betsy DuBois (pictured above left) has made an impact on OAPN. But her career also spans more than 25 years as an arts presenter, arts educator and board member for OAPN, as well as having served as a past OAPN conference co-chair. Her colleagues recognized her for not only her commitment and passion for the arts, but also for her agency’s commitment to ethical behavior and professionalism in the field.

Jodie Engle served as the Program Coordinator and then Executive Director of OAPN, during which time she brought stability and innovation to the organization. Some of her accomplishments at OAPN include forging conference partnerships with other Ohio arts organizations, including the Ohio Arts Council and Ohio Citizens for the Arts, creating a detailed overall plan for the conference that will serve OAPN well into the future, planning a special 50th anniversary celebration at the 2010 conference, and going above and beyond the call of duty all while living in Mississippi!

The Ohio Arts Presenters Network board and members extend their congratulations and appreciation for all the time and effort Erin, Betsy and Jodie have given to the Ohio arts community. We look forward to their future endeavors and continued support of the arts in Ohio.
